"The weather was too good, the bands were too good, the beer was too good and the vibe was incredible. From a music standpoint, top to bottom, the weekend at Telluride Blues & Brews Festival was as good as any line-up I’ve seen at a Telluride festival."

Together with the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, Listen Up Denver! and Park House hosted the 2nd Firefly Autism Road To Blues & Brews event on Saturday, August 1st to benefit Firefly Autism and Autism Speaks and give some of the best bands in the Rocky Mountain region the opportunity to perform alongside some of the biggest musical names in the country at the 22nd annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival on September 18th – 20th 2015.
It was a beautiful, sunny day in Denver and all the bands brought the heat so the judges' job was not an easy one. The winner of the 2015 'Road to Blues & Brews' was Michael Hornbuckle Band! The runner up was Union Driftwood! Congratulations to both and thanks to all the bands that played so well last weekend. The Durango Blues Train is a truly unique experience unlike any other featuring live music aboard the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad's coal-fired, steam-powered train. During the three and a half hour ride through the valleys and canyons of the San Juan National Forest, inspired artists fill the vintage coach cars with lively music as passengers dance their way through train coaches on the trip up to the 'Highline', a scenic overlook of the Animas River.

Boston's funk powerhouse Lettuce played two energetic shows at Club Red on February 13th and 14th. Club Red could be compared to a modern take on jazz clubs or speakeasies. The decor and setup offer a retro ambiance and intimate music experience and Lettuce definitely brought the heat to the packed crowds.

The Telluride Jazz Festival offers a unique aspect of music education outside of the festival weekend by way of their 'Artists in the Schools' programs. Visiting musicians teach local students through interaction and performances at the elementary, middle and high school levels. On Friday, August 6th, the visiting guest artist was the latin music group Nosotros from Sante Fe, New Mexico. They play a unique blend of rock, salsa, jazz and cumbia inspired from their diverse cultural backgrounds.
